Crosshatching and shading, when do you use them?
well crosshatching darkens things to make better contrast and is good for 2D work while shading can be used a lot more for trying to make 3D things
so how can we add this to our charecters? well when adding details not everything is at on point there is depth so the dark will help with that
another thing, when adding details remember not everyone has the exact same face shape and many people have diffrent face shapes so make sure to use diffrent shapes and you can always take the nose, mouth, eyes and hair diffrent sizes in order to make charects diffrent
